Siân Alsop

Siân was located in the Centre for English Language Teacher Education at the University of Warwick from 2006 to 2007 and assisted in recording interviews, in the collection of assignments (making contact with students, supervising submissions, and paying contributors), and in corpus preparation (recording submission details and storing assignments).

Siân is now in Buenos Aires.

 

Mary Deane (2006)

Mary Deane is a Lecturer at the Centre for Academic Writing at Coventry University; she assisted in the collection of assignments from students at Coventry.

 

Dr Signe Ebeling

Signe was located in the International Centre for English Language Studies at Oxford Brookes University from 2004 to 2007 and assisted in recording interviews, in the collection of assignments (making contact with students, supervising submissions, and paying contributors), and in corpus preparation (recording submission details and storing assignments).

Signe is now at the Norwegian Military Academy in Oslo.

 

Dr Richard Forsyth (2004-2005)

Dr Forsyth was located in the Centre for English Language Teacher Education at the University of Warwick and assisted in the co-ordination of interviews and assignment collection, and the recording and management of interview and assignment data.

 

Dr Lisa Ganobcsik Williams

Lisa Ganobcsik-Williams teaches and researches at the Centre for Academic Writing at Coventry University; she assisted in the collection of assignments from students at Coventry.

 

Dr Sheena Gardner

Dr Gardner was located in the Centre for English Language Teacher Education at the University of Warwick until August 2007. She assisted Hilary Nesi in project management at Warwick, participated in the final stage detailed analysis of written texts and participated in the writing up and dissemination of findings.

Dr Gardner joined the University of Birmingham in August 2007.

 

Penny Gilchrist

Penny Gilchrist is the administrator for the Centre for Academic Writing (CAW) at Coventry University.  she assisted in the collection of assignments from students at Coventry.

 

Alois Heuboeck

Alois is located in the School of Linguistics and Applied Language Studies at the University of Reading and assisted Paul Thompson in the collection of assignments and corpus preparation. He also carried out staff interviews, and was particularly involved in the encoding of the corpus.

Alois is reading for a PhD at Reading.

 

Dawn Hindle

Dawn was located in the Centre for English Language Teacher Education at the University of Warwick during 2005 and assisted in recording interviews, in the collection of assignments (making contact with students, supervising submissions, and paying contributors), and in corpus preparation (recording submission details and storing assignments).

 

Dr Jasper Holmes

Jasper was located in the Centre for English Language Teacher Education at the University of Warwick and worked on documentation, tagging and wider theoretical issues. He participated in the analysis stage and in writing up the results.

 

Maria Leedham

Maria was located in the International Centre for English Language Studies at Oxford Brookes University from 2004 to 2007 and assisted in recording interviews, in the collection of assignments (making contact with students, supervising submissions, and paying contributors), and in corpus preparation (recording submission details and storing assignments).

Maria is now at the Open University

 

Professor Hilary Nesi

Professor Nesi was located in the Centre for English Language Teacher Education at the University of Warwick. She managed the project, co-ordinated assignment collection and academic staff interviews across the three universities, organised and conducted tutor interviews at Warwick, carried out analysis of written texts and assisted in the mark up and preparation of the corpus. She also participated in the writing up and dissemination of findings.

Professor Nesi joined the University of Coventry in October 2007.

 

Dr Paul Thompson

Dr Thompson is located in the School of Linguistics and Applied Language Studies at the University of Reading. His principal duties were: to manage the project at Reading; to organise tutor interviews at Reading; to co-ordinate the development of the mark up scheme; to supervise the presentation of the corpus; and to participate in the writing up and dissemination of findings.

 

Dr Paul Wickens

Dr Wickens is located in the International Centre for English Language Studies at Oxford Brookes University. He managed the project at Oxford Brookes and participated in the detailed analysis of written texts and in the writing up and dissemination of findings.
