Intercultural Skills for Engineers

'Global Engineers' Workshop 2013

As part of our emerging 'Global Engineers' Intercultural Network, the WACC team at the University of Warwick organised a 2-day workshop, 14-15 March 2013. With funding from the University of Warwick's International Partnership Fund, we were able to sponsor staff from the Civil Engineering Department at the University of Tokyo, Japan, to fly to Warwick for the workshop. Other participants of the workshop were staff from the University of Warwick's engineering department and staff from the University of Leuven who are engaged in teaching intercultural skills to engineers. The varioius engineering staff shared their understanding of the intercultural challenges that engineers experience and the intercultural staff shared ideas for training materials and methods.

A second workshop will take place in Tokyo on 15-16 May 2014.
