It was originally a tiny village known as Leamington Priors until the beginning of the 19th century. In July 1814, the Royal Pump Room and Baths were officially opened. Spa treatment was claimed to cure a wide variety of disorders such as 'rigidity of the joints' and rheumatism. Nowadays, with its stunning Regency architecture, Royal Leamington Spa welcomes new residents and visitors alike.
