Exam support and wellbeing

Whilst your wellbeing and health are important, you may find that you would benefit from specific academic advice, or that you have a question relating to course content, that hasn’t yet been answered.

There are a few more routes that you might try:

Pastoral Support Drop-in Sessions

The Undergraduate Pastoral Support Team will be running online support drop-in sessions twice daily via MS Teams. Please visit our page to get in touch.

Maths/Stats - Drop-in Sessions

You can drop-in to these weekly sessions during term time if you need to ask questions or get help on any aspect of Maths/Stats within your Economics modules. They are run by Nicholas Jackson (Monday 11:00-12:00 and Thursday 13:00-14:00).

See below the Maths/Stats Drop-in sessions which will be held at the following times for each term if you are a joint degree student and would like some advice on choosing between Maths/Stats A (EC139/EC122) and Maths/Stats B (EC140/EC124).

Advice and Feedback Hours

Every member of academic staff, including all Graduate Teaching Assistants, have at least two Advice and Feedback hours each week of term. During this time, the member of staff will be available in their office and you can meet them to discuss any aspect of your academic studies, as well as other things, e.g. personal tutoring, references.

You can find the times of the Advice and Feedback Hours of any member of the academic staff on the ‘People’ page of the website. These hours will also be posted on or near each academic staff member’s door.

Revision Sessions

In advance of the tests on core modules, we will provide students with approximately 2 hours of revision sessions. These are sessions where 2 or 3 tutors from the module will be available at a designated time and location to review and answer module-related questions and generally provide support in advance of the test. They may also be a good opportunity to gain a better understanding of the marking criteria and what you can expect in the test. The times of the Revision Sessions will be advertised in advance of the tests and you can sign up on Tabula.

RAE Helpdesk

For students taking EC331, Research in Applied Economics, there is a Helpdesk where you can speak to a member of staff and gain support and advice about technical and software aspects of your project. You can find details of the tutors and the times here.

Library Support

The economics librarian, Jackie Hanes, is available for 1-2-1 appointments with students. You can book an appointment either on-campus or online using the booking form. On-campus appointments will normally take place in the consultation pod on the 1st floor of the library, and online appointments will take place on Teams. You can also contact Jackie directly by email Jackie.Hanes@warwick.ac.uk or telephone 024 765 72588 from 9am to 4pm Monday to Friday.

The general Library email address (library@warwick.ac.uk) may also be used, and your enquiry will be dealt with by Academic Support colleagues, or passed on to the specialist.
