Warwick Policy Lab lecture - Melanie Dawes

Melanie Dawes, Permanent Secretary for Department for Communities and Local Government DCLG, visits Warwick to speak as part of the Warwick Policy Lab (WPL) guest lecture series.

The WPL lecture series is open to all University students and staff and invites speakers from outside the University to speak on interesting and important real world issues.

The aim of these guest lectures are to help students interpret what they have learnt in lectures and classes to interesting and important real world situations and subjects.

Biography

Melanie Dawes took up her role as Permanent Secretary for DCLG on 1 March 2015. She is also gender champion for the Civil Service and sits on the Civil Service Board and Senior Leadership Committee.

Melanie was Director General of the Economic and Domestic Affairs Secretariat (EDS) at the Cabinet Office from October 2011, responsible for overseeing the system of Cabinet decision-making; read more.
