The Department welcomes new faculty members who will be arriving over the summer

We are absolutely delighted to welcome the following eighteen new scholars to our Department. They will be joining our Faculty this summer:

  • Professor Jacob (Kobi) Glazer from Boston University to a Professorship in Health Economics (jointly with the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine). Professor Glazer's research interests are in health economics.
  • Professor Ilan Kremer from Stanford University to a Professorship in Economics. Professor Kremer's research interests include financial economics, information economics and auctions.
  • Professor Kris Mitchener from Santa Clara University in California to a Professorship in Economics. Professor Mitchener's research interests include international finance, macroeconomics and world economic history.
  • Professor Omer Moav from Royal Holloway University of London and The Hebrew University of Jerusalem to a Professorship in Economics. Professor Moav's research interests include economic growth and development, income inequality and mobility, and human capital and fertility.
  • Dr. Thijs van Rens from the Centre de Recerca en Economia Internacional, Barcelona, to an Associate Professorship in Economics. Dr. Van Rens' research is on the macroeconomics of labour markets, with an emphasis on analyzing fluctuations in unemployment levels.
  • Dr James Choy of Yale University to an Assistant Professorship in Economics. Dr. Choy specializes in development economics and microeconomic theory.
  • Dr. Mirko Draca from University College London to an Assistant Professorship in Economics. Dr. Draca studies labour economics, political economy and the economics of innovation.
  • Dr. Roberto Pancrazi from the Toulouse School of Economics to an Assistant Professorship in Economics. Dr. Pancrazi's expertise is in quantitative and applied macroeconomics, with an interest in finance.
  • Dr Marija Vukotic from Banque de France to an Assistant Professorship in Economics. Dr. Vukotic's research looks at monetary policy.
  • Dr Chris Doyle to a Principal Teaching Fellowship in Economics. Dr Doyle's interests are in industrial organization, competition and regulation policy and the economics of sport.
  • Miss Elizabeth Jones from Exeter University to a Principal Teaching Fellowship in Economics. Miss Jones's interests are in social policy, the economics of education, health care and poverty issues.
  • Dr Mariaelisa Epifanio from Essex University to a Research Fellowship in Economics. Dr. Epifano's research interests are in political economy, comparative politics and international conflict.
  • Dr Jordi Vidal-Robert from Boston University to a Research Fellowship in Economics. Dr. Vidal-Robert's research interests are in economic history, development economics, economics of institutions and political economy.
  • Dr. Stefania Borla from Manchester University to a fixed-term Teaching Fellowship in Economics. Dr. Borla's interests are in industrial organization and macroeconomics.
  • Mr. Thomas Martin from Essex University to a fixed-term Teaching Fellowship in Economics. Dr Martin's interests are in applied microeconometrics, welfare dynamics, poverty and inequality.
  • Dr. Ali Moghaddasi Kelishomi from Essex University to a fixed-term Teaching Fellowship in Economics. Dr. Kelishomi's interests are in labour economics and macroeconomics.
  • Dr. Jonathan Powell from Manchester University to a fixed-term Teaching Fellowship in Economics. Dr. Powell's interests are in economic growth and macroeconomics.
  • Dr. Christian Soegaard from Nottingham University to a fixed-term Teaching Fellowship in Economics. Dr. Soegaard's interests are in political economy and international economics.
