The British Conference of Undergraduate Research (BCUR) has recently accepted an abstract by first year economics undergraduate, Nabila Kauser. The Conference meets annually every Spring in a different British university and undergraduates of all levels and disciplines are invited to submit papers to the Conference.

Nabila’s research was inspired through her travels from urban to geographically adverse locations in Bangladesh for fieldwork during an internship.

"I observed how small businesses are interlinked with the big industry players, backing up one another and boosting the economy. Development has been my major interest area, and I started to think ‘can business objectives cater for massive global development.'

Elizabeth Jones, Dean of Undergraduate Students, offered her congratulations and said “given that Nabila is a first year undergraduate student, her acceptance into the BCUR is a fantastic achievement as she completed her initial proposal after just one term of study.

Nabila said, "I am very excited about the presentation at University of Nottingham and extremely motivated to learn evaluating tools and policy analysis thoroughly to contribute innovative solutions for development in the future."

The 2014 British Conference of Undergraduate Research will be held at the University of Nottingham between 14-15th April.
