Seven new Assistant Professors appointed

The Department of Economics is pleased to announce the appointment of seven new Assistant Professors who will join the Department for the start of the new academic year in August/September 2015.

We are delighted by these excellent appointments each of which will add to the diversity of our research and further enhance our student experience.

The new Assistant Professors are:

  • Mingli Chen (Boston University)
    Research fields: Econometrics; Big Data

  • Thiemo Fetzer (LSE)
    Research fields: Development Economics; Energy Economics; Big Data.

  • Lucie Gadenne (UCL)
    Research fields: Public Finance; Public Economics.

  • Sinem Hidir (Tolouse School of Economics)
    Research fields: Economic Theory; Dynamic Incentive Problems.

  • Clement Imbert (Oxford)
    Research fields: Development economics; Labour Economics.

  • Kirill Pogorelskiy (Caltech)
    Research fields: Political Economy.

  • Giovanni Ricco (LBS)
    Research fields: Macroeconomics.

Professor Abhinay Muthoo, Head of Department and Co-director of the Warwick Policy Lab said:
