Andreas Goldthau

Dr Andreas Goldthau is Associate Professor with the Department of Public Policy at Central European University , an American graduate school based in Budapest , Hungary. He is also a Fellow with the Global Public Policy Institute ( Berlin / Geneva ), co-heading the institute’s Global Energy Governance program. Having worked at thinks tanks such as the RAND Corporation before joining CEU, Dr Goldthau combines experience in both academia and policy practice. His academic interests focus on energy security and on global governance issues related to oil and gas. He is the author, co-author or co-editor of Dynamics of Energy Governance in Europe and Russia (Palgrave, forthcoming 2011), Global Energy Governance. The New Rules of the Game (Brookings Press, 2010), Imported Oil and National Security (RAND, 2009) and OPEC. Macht und Ohnmacht des Oelkartells (Hanser, 2009).

Dr Goldthau joins GR:EEN with a specific focus on energy policy making in Europe. In this context, he is particularly interested in understanding the policy challenges arising for Europe in a rapidly changing global energy order. GR:EEN will provide him with a unique platform for multidisciplinary investigation in this field.
