Diane Stone

Diane Stone is Winthrop Professor in Politics and International Relations at the University of Western Australia on leave from the University of Warwick. From 2004 to 2008, she was a European Commission Marie Curie Chair and founding Professor of Public Policy at Central European University (CEU) in Budapest and architect of the Erasmus Mundus dual degree consortium. Working at the World Bank Institute in Washington DC. she was a member of the Secretariat that launched in 1999 the Global Development Network subsequently becoming a member of its Governing Body for three years. Until 2011, she was a member of the Council of the Overseas Development Institute - a London based think tank.

Specific research interests include the influence of ideas and expertise on policy, the political economy of higher education; the role of non-state actors in domestic, regional and global affairs; conceptual developments in the study of policy networks; the political process of lesson-drawing and policy transfer; think tanks and policy advice
