Bone Marrow Awareness Week

Monday 27 April to Friday 1 May 2009

Marrow @ Warwick are holding their first ever Bone Marrow Awareness Week, with a whole week of events planned across campus.

Each day a bone marrow donor recruitment clinic will be held, where you will have the opportunity to join the bone marrow register. All it involves is answering a few medical related questions to check eligibility, donating a teaspoon of blood and having a cup of tea and a biscuit while chatting to one of their counsellors. If you’re not sure about joining the register, then just spend some time finding out more about bone marrow and the donation process.

The distinguished speakers’ evenings are the perfect opportunity to find out a bit more. We’re having talks from various experts in the field, covering everything from why bone marrow matters to first hand experiences of donating and receiving bone marrow. The talks will be followed by wine and nibbles.

The week will culminate in a social at Saint Bar in Leamington, with a raffle full of amazing prizes kindly donated by local businesses. All this will help raise money to allow the Anthony Nolan Trust to continue their life saving work.
