Carbon Nano Test-Tubes: Interactions of Nanotubes with Molecules and Colloidal Particles
Thursday 7th February 2008, 16:15-17:15, Physics Lecture Theatre
Dr. Andrei N. Khlobystov (Nottingham University) will lead this talk describing recent research on carbon nanotubes.
Due to their tabular nature, these have been demonstrated to encapsulate different molecules, thus forming quasi-1D molecular systems. The behaviour of molecules is significantly affected by their confinement in nanotubes and encapsulated molecules can locally perturb and modulate the intrinsic electronic properties of carbon nanotubes.
Attendance is free of charge - Refreshments provided
