Charge Transport Properties of Organic Semiconductors: How Electrons Move in Soft Materials

Thursday 21st February 2008, 16:15-17:15, Physics Lecture Theatre

Dr. Ale Troisi (Warwick University) will lead this talk on the charge transport properties of organic semiconductors.

Organic semiconductors are widely investigated as a cheap alternative to transistors, light emitting diodes, photovoltaic devices. Their electron transport properties are very different from those of inorganic semiconductors mostly because of the much weaker interactions holding together organic solids.

A new way to model the electron dynamics in these materials will be introduced to interpret a variety of spectroscopic and electrical measurements.

Attendance is free of charge - Refreshments provided
