Summary: A Chinese academic forum, aiming to increase understanding and acceptance between the East and the West.

The China Forum, Warwick's first ever Chinese academic forum, will take place on Saturday 26 February 2011.

The goal of the China Forum is to increase understanding and acceptance between the East and the West, through channels of open and unbiased academic discussions in English, encouraged by a one day exposure to different perspectives on contemporary Chinese issues.

The China Forum aims to promote this mutual cultural understanding by inviting Chinese experts from different sectors of society to speak on contemporary Chinese issues. There will be contributions from eight high profile speakers including Dr. Martin Lee, Founder, Democratic Party of Hong Kong and Dr. Elsie Leung, 1st Secretary of Justice of Hong Kong.

Through exploring the theme "China: Your Perspective", the organisers of the China Forum hope to increase understanding of and respect for divergent views on Chinese affairs as well as offer an intellectually stimulating experience.
