Cormac McCarthy's Houses: An Exhibition by Peter Josyph

Peter Josyph, writer, filmmaker and artist, will be exhibiting his paintings on the theme of novelist Cormac McCarthy’s former home on Coffin Avenue in El Paso, Texas, at Millburn House 22 June- 2 July. The exhibition coincides with the Cormac McCarthy Society Conference being hosted by the CAPITAL Centre 28 June-2 July.

The paintings were made in New York in 1997 – 1998 and in 2008 – 2009 on hand-made paper from the DePonte Mill in Mexico. Josyph’s work as painter has made him a fellow of the Pollock-Krasner Foundation and a New Yorker Talk of the Town.

Josyph’s books include Liberty Street: Encounters at Ground Zero; What One Man Said to Another: Talks With Richard Selzer; The Wounded River; and two forthcoming books centered around Cormac McCarthy: Adventures in Reading Cormac McCarthy; and Cormac McCarthy’s House. His films include the award-winning documentary Liberty Street: Alive at Ground Zero; and Acting McCarthy: The Making of Billy Bob Thornton’s “All the Pretty Horses”.
