Gyanendra Pandey is Arts and Sciences Distinguished Professor in the Department of History, Emory University. Among his recent publications are: Remembering Partition: Violence, Nationalism and History (2002).

Christopher Pinney is Professor of Anthropology and Visual Culture at University College, London, and Visiting Crowe Professor in the Department of Art History at Northwestern University. His publications include: Camera Indica: The Social Life of Indian Photographs (1997).
