Medical School - Inaugural Lecture

Professor Janet Dunn, Professor of Clinical Trials and Head of Cancer Trials, will give her inaugural lecture - 'Oncology - Trials, Tribulations and Success' on Tuesday 15 May at 6pm in the Medical Teaching Centre Lecture Theatre, Gibbet Hill Campus.

Professor Dunn was appointed to her current role in January 2006. She has over 19 years clinical trials experience, starting out as a junior statistician and working up to Deputy Director and then Assistant Director of the Cancer Research UK Clinical Trials Unit at the University of Birmingham. She is now Deputy Director at Warwick Medical School Clinical Trials Unit. For more information on Professor Dunn, visit http://www2.warwick.ac.uk/fac/med/newsfront/inaugurallectures/il7/

Warwick Medical School launched its series of Inaugural Lectures in September 2006 with Professor Jeremy Dale, Professor of Primary Care, and mainstay in the development of the School.

In keeping with tradition at many institutions, especially Medical Schools, Professors at the Medical School will each give an Inaugural Lecture. These lectures will provide an opportunity for members of the public, University colleagues and associates to learn more about the work undertaken in the Medical School and for the Professors to highlight their field of interest and commemorate their success to date.

The series of Inaugural Lectures consists of three lectures a term, usually on the third Tuesday of the month.
