Negotiation Skills: Getting a Better Deal

Course Objectives/outcomes
Participants will have the opportunity to:
- Explore the negotiation process from start to finish;
- Discuss various approaches to negotiation and examine a number of negotiation skills and techniques;
- Examine and participate in a variety of 'commercial negotiations' and work out how to get the best deal;
- Examine and participate in a variety of 'staff negotiations' and work towards win/win resolution.
Process
Trainer input, groups work and cases studies
Target Audience
Staff involved in negotiating within the Institution and outside with contractors and stakeholders. (Please note that the course does not cover specific negotiations with staff representatives and Trade Unions
