The Centre for the Study of Women and Gender: Not Very Far Away Day

Tuesday 26th May, 2-4.30pm, Ramphal R0.3/4

The Centre for the Study of Women and Gender will be holding its annual Not Very Far Away Day on Tuesday 26th May, from 2-4.30pm. This event is a chance for colleagues from across the university with an interest in gender issues to network and learn about each other’s research. As in previous years, participants are invited to contribute a poster to the event describing their research. For those who are less confident in their poster design skills, there are two poster pro-formas on the NVFAD website (www.go.warwick.ac.uk/nvfad) which make this really easy. Handmade posters are also welcome – anything that says something about the research that you do.

The NVFAD will be followed by a seminar by Dr Sam Murray (Macquarie University) entitled: “Gastric Banding and the “Trans-en-abled” Body” (from 5-7pm).

The NVFAD is free, and anyone from within the university is welcome to attend. Please register with Ann Ryan if you are interested in attending so that we have some idea of numbers. Refreshments will be available at the NVFAD, and the seminar will be followed by a wine reception.

To register for the event, please contact Ann Ryan at ann.ryan@warwick.ac.uk. If you require any further information about the event, please contact Karen Throsby at K.Throsby@warwick.ac.uk .
