Verbatim Theatre: Telling Other People's Stories

The CAPITAL Centre is playing host to a workshop, led by Professor Kathleen Gallagher, Academic Director of the Centre for Urban Schooling at the University of Toronto. Participants at the workshop will be invited to explore and examine some of the techniques and practices currently in use in the evolving genre of verbatim theatre.

Part story-telling, part composite, part mimicry, part invention, the work will invite critical discussion about the skills, the social value and the creative impulses connected with this form of working.

This methodology has applications across all disciplines. All staff and students are welcome to attend. The workshop will be held in the CAPITAL Studio in Millburn House.

To reserve a place please email capital@warwick.ac.uk.

This workshop comes as part of the CAPITAL Centre’s initiative to bring its National Teaching Fellowship funded Open-Space Learning (OSL) scheme to a wider audience.
