WIDS - Warwick International Development Summit

Friday 20 - Sunday 22 November, Maths and Stats Building

The Warwick International Development Summit (WIDS) is back! And this year the summit will be bigger, and better than ever before.

Centered on the over-arching theme of "Contributions to development: hindrance or help" it will host a variety of panel discussions, talks and workshops. WIDS will cover a multitude of angles ranging from the role of volunteerism and microfinance to conflict resolution and the role of health in development.

Guest speakers include Sara Farley on behalf of the World Bank and the UN, Patrick Watt –head of campaigns at World Vision and Cornell Jackson, head of mission at Planet Finance – an NGO specialising in microfinance.

WIDS will be entire weekend packed with intellectually stimulating and thought-provoking debates. There are three different ticket options available to allow you to enjoy interactive workshops, a book reading accompanied with an exhibition as well as a social for the grand finale.

Tickets are now available from the Students' Union website:
