£7m awarded to Professor Jane Barlow, Warwick Medical School

Professor Jane Barlow, Profepregnancyssor of Public Health in the Early Years at Warwick Medical School, has been awarded a £7m Big Lottery contract to evaluate the effectiveness of preventative services between pregnancy and three years of age.

This programme of work will be conducted over the next eleven years with other Consortium members including Professor Geoff Lindsay at CEDAR, Professor Stavros Petrou in WMS, and other academics across the UK.

Professor Barlow said:

“It’s fantastic news to receive funding for this key area of WMS research. We’re becoming more and more aware of how vital pregnancy and the first three years are, and having the right services in place for both parents and health professionals is essential to providing every child with the best start in life.”
