Warwick Arts Centre Summer Season with Staff 2 for 1 Offers
The Arts Centre Summer Season opens this week, kicking-off ten weeks of the very best theatre, dance, music and more.
First up is HMS Pinafore, from Union Theatre and director Sasha Regan on Tue 22 – Sat 26 Apr. Gilbert & Sullivan’s much loved opera is taken below deck during World War II, as the troops set out to entertain each other with a production of one of their most popular tales.
On Fri 25 Apr, Andy Field and Ira Brand invite audiences to think about the many different meanings of love in studio show Put Your Sweet Hand in Mine.
In May, critically acclaimed physical dance theatre company Gecko makes a welcome return with Institute, an intimate, funny and revealing exploration of care. Expect ingenious set design, visceral movement, intricate group choreography and moments of stunning tenderness and beauty that shine out from shadows so brightly, they leave you reeling.
There’s a riotous dance programme, including Fabulous Beast’s The Rite of Spring & Petrushka, a double bill which contrasts pagan energy and sacrifice with light folk and the spirit of warmer days. The classic fairy tale Rapunzel is reimagined by balletLORENT as a darkly beautiful ballet for families, with music from Doctor Who’s Murray Gold.
