Warwick to welcome the world’s top women cyclists

cycleWe are delighted to announce we are partnering with Warwickshire County Council to host Stage Two of the forthcoming Aviva Women’s Tour on 15-19 June 2016.

The world’s top racers, including the likes of World Champion Lizzie Armitstead and reigning Aviva Women’s Tour Champion Lisa Brennauer, will cover 140 kilometres from Atherstone to Stratford-upon-Avon, passing through our campus on 16 June along the way.

Our Vice-Chancellor Stuart Croft said:

We are delighted to be partnering with Warwickshire County Council to take up this great opportunity to shine a spotlight on the county by hosting this sporting event. We want to encourage our staff and students to take up cycling as part of a healthy lifestyle and an environmentally friendly form of travel. Our investments to establish new cycling routes and facilities and to provide more access to bikes for our staff and students are helping achieve this. We are sure that this event will help inspire people to take up cycling or to cycle more.”
