Rosi Braidotti, Distinguished University Professor and Director of the Centre for the Humanities at Utrecht University and one of the most influential feminist theorists today, will be at Warwick on Thursday 9 May for a pre-launch presentation of her latest book, 'The Posthuman' (Polity, 2013).

'The Posthuman' explores the ways in which new digital, biological and reproductive technologies, robotics and advanced prosthetics blur the traditional distinction between the human and its others. Braidotti considers the implications of these shifts for the institutional practice of the humanities and outlines new forms of cosmopolitan neo-humanism that emerge from the spectrum of post-colonial and race studies, as well as gender analysis and environmentalism.

All are welcome at the wine reception, organised jointly by the Centre for Research in Philosophy, Literature and the Arts and the Warwick Workshop for Interdisciplinary German Studies.
