Warwick partners with British Heart Foundation shops

The University of Warwick has teamed up with British Heart Foundation Shops to launch a new scheme to encourage staff and students to donate unwanted items and help generate vital stock.BHF

100% of the profits raised will go towards the fight against heart disease and fund the BHF’s life-saving research.

The new scheme will see the BHF provide clothing banks, donation bins and BHF collection bags at 19 key drop off points located around Warwick campus.

Donate clothing, shoes, accessories, books, CDs, kitchenware, small electricals

To make the new campaign a success, Warwick and the BHF are urging both students and staff to raid their wardrobes and donate any items that are no longer wanted. BHF Shops are always in need of clothing, shoes, accessories, CDs, DVDs, books, kitchenware and small electricals.

Catherine Argyle, Regional Stock Generator at the BHF comments:

We’re excited to be working alongside Warwick to encourage students to donate their unwanted goods to us. This scheme will be a huge help to our Shops in the Warwick area and I’d like to encourage students to get involved and support the new scheme. Coronary heart disease is the UK’s single biggest killer, shattering the lives of too many children, parents and grandparents - you can join the fight for every heartbeat by having a clear out and using the new facilities to donate your unwanted things.”

Ebiyon Idundun, Waste & Recycling Officer at Warwick, comments:

This is the perfect opportunity for our students to be both charitable and environmentally friendly with their unwanted items. We hope that all our students and staff take advantage of this convenient new service by having a clear out and donating their unwanted items.”

Collection bins in 19 locations

Collection bins will be located at 19 key drop off points. These include: Arthur Vick Halls, Jack Martin, Bluebell, Sherbourne, Westwood, Cryfield, Tocil and Redfern Halls and Rootes Residences.
