British Science Association Media Fellowship opportunity

British Science Association logoResearchers are being offered the chance to develop their communication skills and find out what it's like to be a science journalist through a British Science Association Media Fellowship.

You'll experience first hand how science is reported in the media by spending 3-6 weeks this summer working with hosts including The Guardian, BBC, and the Times to produce accurate, well informed news pieces about developments in science. You'll get the chance to work alongside the UK’s top science editors in the British Science Festival Press Centre.

You'll come away better equipped to communicate your research to the media, public and your colleagues. You will develop writing skills that could help you produce concise and engaging articles and funding applications.

My greater understanding of how the press works means I will now be able to pitch my research in a more accessible way to journalists, so we both get the story we want.
