Disability Awareness Week 2013

�DisabilityThis week, commencing 21 January 2013, is Disability Awareness Week, a national initiative which aims to educate and inform the public about a variety of disabilities, together with the fight for inclusivity and access within society.

There is a programme of talks and events taking place at Warwick throughout the week, including the launch of Warwick Enable, the new society for students with disabilities, on Tuesday. Come along and meet others, share experiences, get support and get involved.

Monday 21 January

  • 7:30pm - QuizSoc Pub Quiz with Disability Themed Rounds (Mighty Duck)
  • 8pm - Monday Live talk on the Paralympic legacy, with Sam Fry, Warwick Disabled Students' Officer (SIBE)

Tuesday 22 January

  • Warwick Enable at the Refreshers Fair (SU Atrium)
  • 2pm - Talk from Hearing Loss (R3.25)
  • 7pm - Warwick Enable Launch Event with talk by NUS Disabled Students' Officer, Hannah Paterson (Curiositea)

Wednesday 23 January

  • 6pm - Disability Question Time (S0.13)

Thursday 24 January

  • 2pm - Talk from Warwick’s Disability Coordinator, Kathryn Fisher (R1.04)

Friday 25 January

  • 2pm - Talk from Coventry Disabled Students' Officer, Toby Morrison (R2.41)

Every weekday there will be a stall in the Students' Union Atrium between 10am-4pm where you can come along and learn a little bit more about disability, campaigns and the charities that offer help. Whether you are disabled or non-disabled, pop along and show your support.
