Improvements to staff benefits

The University has partnered with independent organisation Health Assured to provide all Warwick salaried employees with free access to additional wellbeing support.

The Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) offers support by phone 24/7, 365 days a year. It provides counselling, legal advice, bereavement support, advice on medical problems and a range of information resources and self-help tools. All support is confidential and staff can self-refer to use the service. No names or details of individual enquiries will be shared between the University and Health Assured.

This is a pilot programme for a year initially and the University will assess usage levels over this time to inform longer-term provision of University wellbeing support resources and access to external services.

Commenting on the service, Dr Hannah Friend, Director of Wellbeing and Safeguarding said:

Balancing everyday life with the requirements of work and home can create pressures for all of us. Work is a large part of people’s lives and it is vital to ensure that staff at the University are provided with a supportive environment that is conducive to a healthy lifestyle. Making this service available to staff will help them to achieve a positive balance.”
