The Arts Faculty, in collaboration with the Research Student Skills Programme, are running a competition for PhD Students and Early Career Researchers from all faculties to win the opportunity to attend a workshop on ‘Engaging with Policy’ at the House of Commons, Wednesday June 25th.

Governments at all levels around the world are increasingly interested in ‘evidence-based policy’. Academic research can provide policymakers with rigorous and unbiased evidence on which to make policy decisions. But how does a scholar use his research to influence policy?

This immersive training session with civil servants will instruct researchers in how policy is formed and how to navigate the corridors of Whitehall to get your research in front of the right people.

An introductory session ‘Engaging with Policy’ will be held on Friday February 21, 10.00-12.00 in the Research Exchange, Library. It is strongly encouraged that those researchers interested in applying for the session at the House of Commons attend this session.

Both sessions will be run by the Industry and Parliamentary Trust.
