Global Governance GRP roundtables are informal conversations aimed at introducing colleagues working on global governance themes to each other in order to foster greater interdisciplinary collaboration. Dr Joel Quirk, University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, works on slavery and abolition, human rights and duties beyond borders and global history and cross-cultural exchange. He will be joined by Professor Daniel Branch from Warwick’s Global History and Culture Centre.

Benchmarking in Global Governance Workshop Plenary Session

Global benchmarking involves the formulation and dissemination of a series of standardised metrics and rankings which are designed to determine how specific actors, populations and institutions have been performing in comparison to their international peers. In order to move our understanding of global benchmarking processes and practices beyond single issue areas, this project employs a multidisciplinary approach, with expert collaborators from the disciplinary fields of international law, international political economy, international security, political theory, health, and human rights.

Human Rights & Labour Standards Reporting Processes in Multinational Companies & their Supply Chains

Thursday 6 March, 13:00 - 16:00, B3.19 WBS Building Scarman Road. Lunch provided.
This workshop will consider human rights and labour standards reporting processes for multinationals and their supply chains. Participants will discuss their interests in a wide range of multi-stakeholder initiatives, voluntary reporting processes and self-reporting on human rights and labour standards. What can we learn from examining these reporting processes, their shared features and their differences?
