Horizon 2020 Roundtable

Thursday 8 May, 12:30 – 14:00, S1.50, Social Sciences Building
The EU Horizon 2020 call entitled “Europe as a Global Actor: Europe's contribution to a value-based global order and its contestants” looks like it might be of interest to a range of scholars at Warwick interested in global governance issues. The call states that “Research should ultimately come to statements about if and how Europe does - or does not - contribute to a value-based global order. It should identify facilitating and inhibiting conditions for European action that effectively promotes its values.” To read the call in full please see here.

The deadline for the call is 7 January 2015. This meeting is therefore an initial scoping session to gauge interest among scholars at Warwick. It is also an opportunity to find out about scholars whose research interests might relate to your own. Shaun Breslin has kindly agreed to open the event with some reflections on his experience of being Senior Scientist on the EU funded FP7 GR:EEN project. (see http://www2.warwick.ac.uk/fac/soc/csgr/green/ for more details). If you want to talk more about this call before the meeting please email James Harrison at J dot Harrison dot 3 at warwick dot ac dot uk

In particular, it will provide a platform for participants to start formulating a possible framework for an interdisciplinary research bid relating to climate change and aspects of global governance. If you would like further information or have ideas about the workshop themes or ideas for bids, please contact: M dot N dot MacDonald at warwick dot ac dot uk.
