Social Dimensions of Free Trade Agreements

Franz Ebert is the author of an important new ILO report entitled ‘Social Dimensions of Free Trade Agreements’. The report provides a comprehensive review of all existing trade agreements that include provisions on labour standards and discusses their impacts for enterprises and workers. It also helps assess the challenges arising from the multiplication of trade agreements that include different social provisions. Franz will discuss the report, its key findings, recommendations for action, and, future prospects for research in this field.

Cyber Security and Global Governance: the future of the Internet

The next decade will be important for the future governance of the Internet and of the Cyberspace as a whole. Like global environmental governance the global governance of cyberspace has the widest implications. Raising security standards is therefore a major issue, but the range and type of actor renders this a bewildering question. Global Governance GRP roundtables are informal conversations aimed at introducing Warwick colleagues working on global governance themes to each other in order to foster greater interdisciplinary collaboration. Speakers at our roundtable on cyber security include: Professor Richard Aldrich (PAIS), Professor Mark Skilton (WBS), Professor Tim Watson (WMG).
