HEFCE consultation on open access
The Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) has now opened its consultation on open access in the post-2014 Research Excellence Framework.
The consultation invites comments on the criteria for open access proposed by the funding bodies, the definition of outputs to which the criteria will apply, and a suitable approach to exceptions.
The consultation document and related information can be accessed online.
Responses must be submitted by 5pm on Wednesday 30 October 2013.
The Scholarly Communications Oversight Group (chaired by Tim Jones and a subgroup of the Information Policy and Strategy Committee) will prepare a University response to the consultation.
