The University's award-winning IGGY recently launched a mobile site built by Vancouver-based web design agency Skyrocket Digital and IGGY’s IT Team.

IGGY is a social network and online educational hub for gifted young people, launched by the University in October 2012. IGGY helps gifted 13-18 year olds realise their full potential by giving members access to great educational resources and allowing them to work with top academics, student mentors and other gifted young people around the world to exchange ideas, debate, learn and explore in a safe environment.

On Friday 24 January 2014 IGGY launched a new mobile site, following feedback from members who wanted to check up on what was happening with IGGY ‘on the move’ using a smartphone or tablet. Not all of the challenges on IGGY will be accessible via the mobile site and it is still important that members find time to access the site using a computer, however IGGY’s mobile site has been developed with the mobile experience in mind, offering ‘quick learning bursts’ to make most of the members available time to browse. Members can also access all the social features of IGGY from their phone; checking up on messages; contributing to debates; uploading posts and blogs and accessing and editing their profile.

We think our new mobile site offers a great IGGY experience across a range of devices. All of the great IGGY social features have made it over to mobile and we think members are going to love interacting and responding to posts in those precious moments of free time, like on the way to school or during break time. Homework Help and unique input from others around the world will now be instantly available whenever they need.”

Mo Dhaliwal is Skyrocket Digital’s Director of Strategy, the developers of IGGY Mobile. He says:

Richard’s team at Warwick gave us some invaluable insights as our user experience team immersed themselves in IGGY to really understand the priorities for IGGY users. The end result is a stimulating mobile experience that will keep bright minds engaged across a range of devices. We’re quite proud of this project and thrilled with the impact it will have on students.”
