Long serving colleagues moving on

This autumn we say goodbye to some long-serving colleagues, Giles Carden and Yvonne Salter-Wright, as they move on to new challenges.

Dr Giles Carden, Director of Strategic Planning and Analytics, has been appointed to the post of Director of Strategic Projects and Chief of Staff at the University of Lancaster. He will take up the new role in October 2017.

Giles joined Warwick 20 years ago and has served as in a variety of roles, including in Research Impact Services, the Executive Office, planning and management information, space allocation and capital programmes and head of administrative operations for the Research Assessment Exercise 2008. In 2008 he became Director of Management Information & Planning before taking on his current role of Director of Strategic Planning and Analytics in 2013.

Warwick’s Registrar Rachel Sandby-Thomas CB said:

I join all of Warwick’s Executive Team and Heads of Administration in congratulating Giles on his new appointment. He will be missed, particular with his contribution to research policy. I would like to thank him for twenty years at Warwick, and wish him all the very best as he takes on this new challenge."

Yvonne Salter Wright will leave in October 2017 to extend her systems leadership role in schools as a National Leader of Governance and to undertake additional voluntary work as a Chair of Governors and Director of a Multi-Academy Company.

Yvonne joined the University in 2000 and has served in a number of roles, including Head of Admissions/ Deputy Director (Recruitment and Admissions), Head of Governance and Director of Delivery Assurance and Resolution.

I would like to thank Yvonne for her many contributions to Warwick over her 16 years with us. She will be much missed, but I, along with the Executive team and Heads of Administration, wish her all the very best in her new roles."
