Can you reduce the UK's CO2 emissions by 80%?

If you'd like to have a go at seeing how you could cut the UK's CO2 emissions by 80% in time for 2050, the Government's Department of Energy and Climate Change has put together a simulator where you can test out the various options.

You can use My2050 to have a go at seeing what effect our behavioural changes can make to the demand for energy, and what different technologies can do to help us supply energy in a more environmentally friendly way. It also factors in how secure the new methods of producing energy would be.

The more technical option

If you'd like to take a look at things in more detail, complete with charts for supply, demand, and emissions, the Department has also created a 2050 Pathways Calculator. It offers the chance to see the effects of more specific changes.
