Coming soon: Office 365 and Office 2013

IT Services will give all University staff and research students the option to use Office 365 and Office 2013 near the start of the summer term 2014. These two new services will open up a new way of working, making it easy to collaborate and share information, and to work away from your desk via nothing more than a browser like Internet Explorer or Chrome.

We'll have more information to share with you closer to the time, but for now we need to make you aware of a small issue that may affect some people who make the upgrade to Office 2013.

Access 97 files

If you're using any Access 97 format database files, you should open them in Office 2010 and resave them to a newer format before making the upgrade or you won’t be able to access them when you have installed Office 2013. If you share databases, make sure that the database owner is fully informed before you update a database.
