PGA: Teaching and Learning in Higher Education

The PGA is for postgraduate research students who have at least 10 hours teaching (in an academic year) and who would like to receive academic credit for their teaching. Teaching could include lecturing, demonstrating, facilitating seminars, tutorials or problem solving classes. The PGA will enable you to:

  • Develop your teaching practice and develop valuable transferable skills.
  • Enhance your CV - particularly important if you wish to follow a career in academia.

The PGA is accredited with the Higher Education Academy. This means that on completing the programme you will be automatically awarded Associate Fellow Status of the Academy - giving you a nationally recognised qualification.
