Phishing email warning

A phishing email has been sent to some Warwick email accounts, asking you to submit your account details.

The email is not genuine, and you should not reply to it or follow any links in it. It is an attempt to capture your personal data. IT Services will never ask you to submit your account details online.

The email

The text of the email is as follows:

Subject: Warning! Dear Email Account User.

Due to so many Spam emails, all account needs to be revalidated by filling out this form below:

Full Name:
Email Address:
User name:
User ID:
Password:
Confirm Password:

Failure to respond to this email, your account will be deactivated from our database and you can no longer send or receive new email in your in box or junk.

A confirmation link will be sent to you for the Re-Activation of your E-mail Account, You are to Click on the "Confirmation Email link" on your mail Account box and then enter this confirmation number: 1265-6778-8250-8393-5727.
