Warwick poster prize winner at national astronomy meeting

rebeccaWarwick PhD student Rebecca White won the student poster prize at the national astronomy meeting in St Andrews. The National Astronomy Meeting is the annual conference of the Royal Astronomical Society and brings together scientists from astronomy, solar, space and solar system physics.

Rebecca's winning poster is entitled "First observation of a transverse vertical oscillation during the formation of a hot post-flare loop". The poster was co-authored by Dr Erwin Verwichte (Warwick) and Dr Claire Foullon (Exeter).

Rebecca White's PhD involves the study of oscillations in the corona of the Sun using data from satellite missions such as the Solar Dynamics Observatory.
