Pro Vice-Chancellor responsibilities 2013-2014

portfolioFollowing Professor Stuart Croft’s recent appointment to Provost, the portfolios and responsibilities of the Pro-Vice-Chancellors have been updated and in some cases revised.

The newly configured roles and responsibilities will ensure that the capacity of this team is focused on the successful implementation and delivery of institutional strategy alongside the on-going development and delivery of the University’s academic priorities. Some Pro-Vice-Chancellor responsibilities have been developed to provide additional capacity in support of the Provost.

Detailed information on the new Pro-Vice-Chancellor portfolios is available on the Pro-Vice-Chancellors webpage. Each role encompasses areas of lead responsibility on primary institution-wide priorities.

In addition to this, each Pro-Vice-Chancellor will have a number of supporting responsibilities. Pro-Vice-Chancellors will continue to work in partnership with administrative senior officers in support of these objectives. All Pro-Vice-Chancellors will retain specific international and civic responsibilities and will undertake additional projects as required under the direction of the Vice-Chancellor and President.

Chairs of Faculty Boards will work closely with those Pro-Vice-Chancellors focussing on education over issues of quality assurance, with relevant faculty facing Pro-Vice-Chancellors on departmental performance and development, and on resources with the Provost and the Pro-Vice-Chancellor for academic resources and planning.
