Received an email re: 'Important account security information'?

If you have received an email with the subject line 'Important account security information', this is likely to be as a result of an attempted security breach that took place this morning (28 August 2013). Although no action is needed, it is worth reviewing your password to make sure your account is as protected as possible.

IT Services is working on measures to mitigate against this kind of attack in the future. In the meantime, it is worth reviewing your password and other security measures to make sure your account is as protected as possible. 

You can set up two-factor authentication for your account for additional security, and monitor activity on your account to check for unauthorised activity.
