Warwick men’s rugby club win Milan international 7 tournament

Warwick men's rugby club sent 12 prugbylayers to an international seven's tournament in Milan, where they became the first English champions with strong performances despite the 30 degrees heat.

They easily won the three group games of the first round with scores of 64-0, 63-0 and 49-0, qualifying as group winners. In the second group, after a tough battle with last year's winners who has local support, Warwick eventually won 17-7 to set up the final.

The final was played against Menino's, a semi-pro 7's team who had won this tournament a number of times before. It was a hard battle with high spirits however, being the guests, Warwick players held their cool and ended up with the crowd cheering them on. The final score was 35-5.

Warwick has been invited back in 2014 and this will hopefully become a regular link with the Rho Rugby club in Milan.
