Congratulations to Professor Simon Gilson, Chair of the Faculty of Arts and Professor of Italian at Warwick, who has been appointed to the Agnelli-Serena Professorship of Italian Studies at the University of Oxford. He will take up the new role in January 2018.

Simon joined Warwick in 1999 and served as Head of Italian (2006 – 09) and later headed the first Sub-Faculty of Modern Languages (comprising French, German, Italian, Hispanic Studies, and the Language Centre from 2012-14). He was appointed as Chair of the Faculty of Arts in 2015.

Warwick’s Vice-Chancellor Professor Stuart Croft said:
