Introducing our new strategy to 2030

Dear colleagues

I’m delighted to launch the University’s new strategy.

Notwithstanding our excellent progress, we cannot be satisfied by standing still and I’m proud to see the shared ambition so many of us have to be even more successful in the future than we are today - as one of the world’s exceptional universities, focusing on supporting our talented staff and students, giving them the freedom and best environments in which to flourish, helping to transform our region, country and world for the collective good.

The strategy is published on our website, and you can download a PDF from the web pages. Hard copies will also be shared with teams where staff do not have regular access to a computer. Please do read the strategy over the coming days and join me if you can at our next all-staff meeting at 2pm on Wednesday 19 September in MS.02 (Mathematics and Statistics building) to learn more.

I will also be asking heads of department to begin to share the strategy with colleagues via departmental and team meetings over the coming weeks and months so there is opportunity for everyone to hear about it.

Many of you have been involved in the development of this strategy over the last few months - thank you very much for your contributions so far, and thank you in advance for the part you will all play in our exciting and ambitious future.

With best wishes
