Student Barometer autumn 2012 findings

student_barometer_logo.pngThe results from the autumn 2012 wave of the Student Barometer of student satisfaction are in. More than 180 institutions took part in the survey world-wide enabling us to benchmark student responses against universities around the globe.

At Warwick, nearly 4000 students responded reflecting on their satisfaction with aspects of Learning, Living, Support and Arrival. We're delighted to announce that five lucky winners who were randomly selected by iGraduate have been notified and each will receive a £100 Amazon voucher.

Some great news came out of the survey with 90.3% of all students who responded saying that they are either satisfied or very satisfied with their overall experience at Warwick.

Expert lectures (95.5%), faith provision (97%), the Graduate School (96.2%) and the Students’ Union’s Societies and Sports Clubs (96%) all received exceptionally high satisfaction ratings.

In comparison with the autumn 2011 Student Barometer:

  • Satisfaction with the support provided by Warwick Accommodation is up by 4.7%, the rating for the University’s eco-friendly attitude is up 4.3%, and there's a 3.8% rise on the rating for Performance feedback.
  • Amongst international students, satisfaction with opening a bank account is up 19.4% and the University’s Orientation programme is up 11.7%.
  • Home students’ satisfaction has increased in many areas including accommodation on arrival (up 9%) and for post-graduates in guidance with topic selection (up 5.4%).
  • We've seen a 3.1% drop in satisfaction with opportunities to work as part of a course of study (65.4%), but there's a 2.9% improvement on students’ satisfaction with opportunities for earning money while studying (62%).
