Applications are now open for students from England, Wales and Northern Ireland to apply for funding for the academic year 2013-14. Applications for students from Scotland are expected to open in early April 2013.

Students from England

If you're returning to university in Autumn 2013, you can now apply for funding for the academic year 2013-14. Information about the process, including eligibility for tuition fee loans, maintenance loans and maintenance grants, how to apply and repayment information can be found on the Student Finance website.

If you normally apply for financial support based on your household income, you will need to reapply as soon as possible at www.gov.uk/studentfinance.

Applications should be received no later than 28 June 2013 for your finances to be in place by the start of the academic year.

If your previous application for student finance was not based on your household income, Student Finance England will be in touch with you by the end of February 2013 to confirm that your details remain the same.

Starting your course in 2013?

If you are starting your course in 2013, you don't need to wait until you have a confirmed place to start applying. Fill out your application at www.gov.uk/studentfinance using your first choice of course, as this can be updated easily at a later date. Apply as soon as you can, but no later than 31 May 2013 to ensure that your finances are in place for the start of the academic year.

Students from Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland

Applications for students from Wales and Northern Ireland are open.

Welsh students should apply by visiting www.studentfinancewales.co.uk. The deadlines for applications are 19 April 2013 for new students and 31 May 2013 for returning students.

Northern Irish students should apply through http://www.studentfinanceni.co.uk by the deadlines of 12 April 2013 for new students and 14 June 2013 for returning students.

Applications for students from Scotland are expected to open in early April 2013.
