Summit to explore future of peaceful protest at Warwick

Warwick’s Centre for Human Rights in Practice has announced it will run an independent summit to explore the future of peaceful protest at our University, with the full support of both the University and the Students’ Union.

The aspiration to continue Warwick’s long history of facilitating peaceful protest on campus is something shared by both our students and staff. The summit will provide the opportunity for our community to share views and experiences and reflect on how to enable protests and demonstrations to take place without recent events being repeated.

The Centre for Human Rights in Practice will seek views from all Warwick staff and students prior to holding a summit around mid-February to examine the relevant issues. The Centre will provide more information on how and when the process will be carried out as soon as is possible in January and we will share that information with you through insite.
