Warwick Surf paint special needs school

Warwick Surf club have brightened up Tiverton school, a local special needs school in Coventry which has just 38 pupils, aged 3-11, with severe learning difficulties.

In late 2012 members of Warwick Surf rolled up their sleeves and painted the school's sensory room, which is used as a stimulating space for children with severe visual, hearing and mobility problems, along with their staff room and 5 clonker boards (boards that amplify sound to be used in story telling) with specially themed designs for the children's learning.

Georgina Conway, Charities and Events rep for the club, said:

The staff and children at Tiverton were extremely grateful and said the designs exceeded their expectations! The day was met with plenty of enthusiasm, everyone leaving at the end of the day not only covered in paint but also with a warm fuzzy feeling that they had done something good for the local community.
